Part of the Interwoven Series - Rarere’s memories of learning to weave with muka (the fine creamy strands from within the flax) twenty years ago inspired these simple but intricate drawings combining her fine art drawing practice with traditional weaving techniques

She has translated this experience into pen ink drawing, often created in the early hours of the morning in quiet repetition. They are slow mediations…like weaving, they are surprisingly revealing. The more time spent with them the more they reveal to you.
