Uenuku was inspired by a Tiki that was carved for me as an exchange for a baby sperm whale jaw bone David Brosnahan (artist) found just north of Orewa, along with 5 teeth.
The initial design and proof of concept was inspired when in Vietnam as he had been living there for 4 years.
