Every Day is Women's Day at Unity
International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025, reminds us to imagine a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination—a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, calls on all of us to celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness about inequality, and take meaningful steps toward gender parity.
At Unity Collection, we believe women should be celebrated every day—not just once a year.
One of the most beautiful moments in our store is seeing men thoughtfully choosing a piece of Māori art for the women in their lives—whether it’s a husband honouring his wife, a grandfather selecting a taonga for his granddaughter, or a Dad buying something special for his daughter. These moments aren’t just about good taste (though, we must say, they always choose well!); they’re about recognition, appreciation, and love.
And if you’re a woman buying something for yourself? That’s also powerful. Choosing a piece that speaks to you, that reflects your mana, that tells your story—that is self-honouring in the best way.
So while we acknowledge International Women’s Day, let’s also remember: every day is an opportunity to honour, uplift, and celebrate the women in our lives—whether through words, actions, or a beautifully chosen gift.

Celebrate Māori creativity, support authentic toi Māori, and honour the stories woven into every taonga.
